みなさん、こんにちは！私の名前はダニエル・リーです。Dan と呼んでくださいね。私はマレーシアの食べ物で有名な街、ペナン出身です。アメリカのミネソタ州のセント・クラウド州立大学でグローバルスタディを学び、京都の立命館大学で国際関係の修士号を取りました。日本に、そして長崎に再度来る前に、イギリス、ポーツマスでケンブリッジ大学のCELTAという英語教授法認定資格を取得しイギリスに来る多くのヨーロッパ人に英語を教えました。日本に来てからは、いろんなオンライン講座や英会話学校で英語を教えています。また、ペナンのジョージタウンでは、NPO法人で上級プログラムアソシエートとして勤務しており、都市コミュニティがその町の有形無形の文化と遺産を保護するのを支援していました。
私は旅行やアウトドアが大好きです。というわけで、写真、ハイキング、サイクリング、そして美しい場所でのキャンプなどを楽しんでいます。さらに美味しい食べ物を食べたり、映画を見たり、音楽を聴いたり、読書やビデオゲームやボードゲームをすることも好きです。新しい経験はウエルカムで、特に奇妙な料理を試すのが好きなんです。面白い食べ物があったら教えてください！辛いものならなおさらいいですよ！
エスタミネーでの英語教師という人生の新しい展開にワクワクしています。私の生徒さんへのアドバイスは、間違いを恐れないこと、そして何より英語学習を楽しむということです。

Hello everyone! My name is Daniel Lee, but you can call me Dan. I’m from the food capital of Malaysia – Penang. I completed my undergraduate degree in Global Studies at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, and I finished my Masters in International Relations at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto. Before returning to Japan and making Nagasaki my new second home, I obtained my CELTA certification in Portsmouth, England. Since then, I’ve been teaching English online and working part-time at various eikaiwas. Previously, I served as a senior programme associate for an NPO based in George Town, Penang, where we assisted the urban community in safeguarding their town’s tangible and intangible culture and heritage.

I love traveling and being outdoors. Therefore, I really enjoy photography, hiking, cycling, and camping in beautiful places. I also indulge in eating good food, watching movies, listening to music, reading, playing video games, and board games. I’m very open to new experiences and especially enjoy trying strange new food. If you have anything strange for me to eat, please let me know! If it is spicy, even better!

I’m excited about this new chapter in my life as an English teacher with Estaminet. My advice to new and current students is to do your best to speak English, don’t be afraid of making mistakes, and most importantly, have fun!
