先日も書きましたが、１月半ばにはGolden Globe賞、２月の終わりにはAcademy賞がありますが、明日２月１２日（日本時間では１３日）は音楽の１年間の総決算のGrammy賞の発表があります。その今年の司会が、LL Cool J というrapやhip-hop系のミュージシャンでもあり俳優もやっている人。LL Cool Jというのは、Ladies Love Cool Jamesの略とか。

４歳のときに親が離婚し、母親に育てられますが、厳しい生育環境から彼を救ったのがhip-hopだったそうです。おばあちゃんが通りで悪さする子にならないように彼に買ってあげたDJ機材を使って１１歳までには詩を書いたり、音楽を作っていたそうです。

今日のCNNのPiers Morgan Showでおばあちゃんから教わったことが彼の生きる指標になったことを言っています。
